Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is a flat rigid material typically with a gloss surface. It has the same appearance as acrylic, but is impact-resistant, making it weather resistant. Thicker material is bulletproof and used indoors in secured areas. Used extensively for exterior lighted signs as well as other exterior applications. Provides lasting protection against natural occurrences such as high winds or hailstorms.

Common uses for polycarbonate signage:

Impact resistant signs, light boxes, trade shows, directional & informational signage, lighted signs.

4' x 8' sheets (1220mm x 2440mm)

5' x 8' sheets (1525mm x 2440mm)

6' x 8' sheets (1830mm x 2440mm)

Reel stock available for larger signs, (material cut off roll)

Material Thickness:

.015 to .090 (.5mm to 2mm) recommended thickness for trade show headers and menu strips.

.118 (3mm) used for small exterior illuminated box sign faces as well as for other exterior applications.

.150 to .117 (5mm) used for medium and large exterior illuminated box sign faces as well as other exterior applications.

Use & Longevity:

Polycarbonate is UV resistant. Is used for temporary indoor and outdoor signage, as well as permanant indoor and outdoor signage.

Life Expectancy:

Indoor- 10+ years

Outdoor- 5+ years

Installation Considerations:

Indoor-

Velcro & double sided tape. Screws, bolts, pad mount or use standoffs with small to medium signs.

Outdoor-

Works best in a metal frame or box sign. Do not screw, bolt or rivet large pieces to walls as it will buckle with climate changes.Silicone adhesive or use double sided tape for small signs.

Installation Accessories:

Box or Frame: Holds sign in place securely.

Polycarbonate Fingers: Used to prevent multiple pieces from separating.

Polycarbonate Zip Track: Track that holds letters in place for changeable message signs like a theater marquee.
