Wood MDO/MDF

MDO is medium density overlay and is similar to plywood with overlapping sheets of thin wood creating a strong wood sheet. MDF is medium density fiberboard, that is made up of compressed woodchips and sawdust. No warranty from any manufacturer on life of product. Used outdoors in commercial, industrial, informational, & directional signs. Commonly attached directly to walls, attached to wood or metal structure for supportor in a post & panel sign.

Post & Panel, Construction Site, Monument, Directional & Informational Signage.

Material Sizes:

4' x 8' sheet (1220mm x 2440mm)

 

Thickness:

3/8" (10mm) comes uncolored or painted and used for small signs.

1/2" (13mm) is the standard to use for medium to large signs. Comes uncolored or painted.

3/4" (19mm) for it's depth and strength only.

Use & Longevity:

The UV resistance of MDO/MDF depends on the type of paint used on the product. It is used for temporary indoor/outdoor signage, as well as permanant indoor/outdoor signage.

Life Expectancy:

Indoors- 5+ years

Outdoors- 2-5+ years

Installation Considerations:

Indoor-

Screw or bolt (do not over tighten)

Outdoor-

Use in a small metal frame. Screw, bolt, or rivet large pieces to walls (do not over tighten)

Installation Accessories:

Frame- Holds sign in place securely.

Post & Panel

Acrylic & Metal Zip Track- track that holds letters in place for changeable message signs.
