Wood Over Laminates

Typically consists of MDO/MDF with a white plastic laminate. This gives the wood a smoother surface than standard painted wood products. It looks better and requires no painting of the surfaces. Generally used outdoors for commercial, industrial, informational & directional signage. Commonly attached to walls, attached to wood or metal structure for support or in a post & panel sign. Illuminated by using spotlights in front.

Common uses of wood over laminates:

Post & Panel, Construction Site, Monument, Directional & Informational Signage.

Material Sizes:

4' x 8' sheets (1220mm x 2440mm)

 

Material Thickness:

3/8" (10mm) used for small signs.

1/2" (13mm) is the standard used for medium to large signs.

3/4" (19mm) for its depth and strength only.

Use & Longevity:

Wood over laminates are UV resistant for up to 5 years. They are typically used for both permanant or temporary indoor and outdoor signage.

Life Expectancy:

Indoor- 5+ years

Outdoor- 5+ years

Installation Considerations:

Indoor-

Screw or bolt (do not over tighten)

Outdoor-

Use in a metal or wood frame. Screw, bolt, or rivet large pieces, do not over tighten.

Installation Accessories:

Post & Panel

Acrylic & Metal Zip Track- Track that holds letters in place for changeable message signs.
