Aluminum

Aluminum is a flat metal material. Generally used for outdoor commercial, industrial, informational & directional signage. Commonly attached directly to walls, attached to an aluminum tube frame for support or in a post & panel sign. Illuminated by spotlights in front. Will not rust.

Common uses for aluminum signage:

Regulatory, Directional, Informational, & Lighted signage.

Material Sizes:

4' x 8' sheets (1220mm x 2440mm)

Blanks available in common sizes. ( 6"x12", 12"x18", 18"x24", etc.)

Material Thickness:

.024 to .032 (.5mm to .7 mm) recommended thickness for small signs mounted on flat surfaces.

.040 to .060 (1mm to 1.5mm) recommended thickness for medium signs mounted on flat surfaces, regulatory signs, and framed signs.

.080 to .125 (2mm to 3mm) reccomended thickness for large signs, and all signs requiring greater ridgitity such as pole mounted, street signs, and post & panel.

Use & Longevity:

Aluminum comes with a UV resistant baked on enamel finish. It is typically used for temorary or permanant, indoor and outdoor signage.

Installation Considerations:

Indoor-

Velcro & double sided tape stick well. Screw or bolt (do not over tighten).

Outdoor-

Box or Frame- holds the sign in place. Do not screw, bolt or rivet large pieces of aluminum to walls as it will buckle in climate changes. Silicone adhesive or double sided tape for small signs.

Installation Accessories;

Box or Frame- Holds sign securely in place.

Acrylic & Metal Zip Track- Track that holds letters in place for changeable message signs.

Used for fabricating channel letters.

Baked enamel finishes are available for .032 and .040
